For the spatial installation Hyper-Re: Emilia Galotti, Lisa Ehlert and I designed a scenography reminiscent of a Reclam booklet, composed of a double yellow frame. Behind it lie two symmetrically arranged rooms that reference a cemetery scene from the original play Emilia Galotti.
The video projection is created by two cameras that film the scenes and project them, with a time delay, onto the back walls of the rooms, producing an endless tunnel effect. This visual loop highlights the perpetual repetition of classical material within the German theatre landscape. The performers, working with a fragmented philosophical text by Josephine Fischer and a simulated choreography by Elias Geißler, struggle against their yellow prison.
