The Videowork 'Preservation of a muse' is a desktop screencast of 18min length. In multiple windows and with the help of a voiceover I revisit a moment from two years ago. 2023, on September 24th I scanned my friend Wolfgang's body, intending to create a sculpture. That day, he shared his cancer diagnosis, and the 3D scan took on a new meaning. In the video, you’ll see his digital form placed in different virtual environments, almost as if I'm searching for a place where his preserved image might belong. The screen shows glimpses of Earth from space, evoking that same objective gaze we often have towards our planet. Through snippets of Wolfgang's own words, we learn about his journey and resilience, reflecting on what it means to capture a body in time.
